Brandenburg Gate-Germany
Brandenburg Gate is the main symbols of Berlin and Germany. It was constructed by King Frederick William II of Persia as a sign of peace. This gate was commissioned from 1788 to 1791. The Brandenburg Gate restored from 2000 to 2002. At present is one of the main tourist spots in Berlin. The Brandenburg Gate consists of twelve Doric columns. On each side they have six pillars providing five passenger ways. Citizens were allowed two use two gates only. The gate was designed on the basis of propylaea, the gate way of acropolis in Athens. And these gates are designed on the basis of Berlin Civilization. The Brandenburg Gate appears on the obverse of 10, 20, 50 cents. A soviet Flag flew from a pole from 1954 to 1957. Later it was replaced by German flag. Since the reunification, of Germany the Flag pole has been removed.
