Coliseum-Rome

The roman coliseum is an elliptical amphitheatre. It was located in the centre of Rome, Italy. This theatre was built in Roman period. It will clearly illustrate greatest works of roman architecture. This Coliseum was constructed on the eastern part of Rome. They started this work within 72 and 72 AD under the great Vespasian and completed this work in 80 AD under Titus. And some modifications are performed in this theatre between 82 and 96 AD. This theatre is capable of seating 50,000 spectators. Gladiatorial games and other spectacular games also conducted in this theatre. The public programs also held this program includes animal hunts, sea battles and classical mythology. In the 21st century this elliptical theatre stays partially ruined due to the damage of earthquake and stone robbers. But it is the symbol of Roman Civilization. It is one of the Tourists attracted places in Rome and still it has a close connection with Roman Catholic Church.
